So you have installed Debian, eh? Fret not, you are nowhere near ready yet. There will be a couple of things you want to do in your freshly installed system right away, such as fix some minor issues, ensure security updates are handled properly and troubleshoot any issues you might have had.
Fortunately, most of what follows is either optional or only really apply if it did not work out of the box. Chances are that everything is working as it should, in which case the necessary parts of this chapter should be quite short.
